to support its
LITTLE BOTTOMS DIAPER PROGRAM
Our parish Knights of Columbus Council (#12691) serves the needs of many poor mothers in Worcester County by working with Catholic Charities. We’ve established a program where diapers are purchased at a low, wholesale price.
At all our Masses this weekend, November 7 and 8, volunteer Knights will greet parishioners at a table in the foyer of the church. You may wish to come with a gift check prepared in advance (see information below).
The typical monthly cost for diapers and wipes for poor mothers is $70 to $120 per month per child and growing every year. This is insurmountable for many struggling families in our area. State benefit programs such as Women, Infants and Children (WIC) and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance (SNAP) do not pay for diapers. Most licensed day care providers require that babies be in disposable diapers (sometimes up to 12 a day).
Our Knights hope to raise $5,000 to assist Catholic Charities in their hope of purchasing and distributing tens of thousands of diapers in the year ahead. We hope you can help us.
