Dear Parishioners,
Each year the Diocese conducts a “pew count” (the total number of people at Saturday and Sunday Masses in each parish). This will happen this coming weekend, October 17-18. Most dioceses throughout the United States undertake this count and on the same weekend.
The “pew count” is one way the Diocese examines the sacramental life and vitality of each parish. The results are given to the Diocesan Pastoral Planning Committee and discussed there.
It may seem an unusual year, given the pandemic, to undertake a “pew count.” Nevertheless, in this 22nd weekend since the “re-opening” of churches (last May 23) all parishes have been asked to do so. Please do your best to join us. We always look forward to seeing you at Mass!
Sincerely,
Monsignor Tom
